Unfinished Business
Parking problem results from discussion with Elyse and Taylor
Joe will follow up with checking whether any Park parking signs indicate they are for guests.
Nick looked up Park rules regarding resident parking rules which confirmed prior understanding regarding residents using their own spaces for parking and not using “guest” spaces for their vehicles. This will be shared with Park managers for follow up. Page 16, section 11b.
Community agreed that they would like the office manager to change the day for discarding unclaimed donations on Mondays rather than Thursdays.
Reminder to residents to donate only items that would likely be wanted by other and that clothes need to be like-new, clean, in good repair. Wendy will create something for next newsletter.
AC batteries need to be replaced in clubhouse
New Business
Suggestion boxes: Nothing
Items from the Board
Community voted to wait to raise ad prices for the newsletter until we get feedback from a poll Nick plans to post on the website asking residents if they have used any of the ads on the website/newsletter within the last year or so
New ideas for increasing volunteers for events and other necessary community activities.
Nick and Ron agreed to proof-read the Newsletter 1-2 days before printing; Printed copy for Ron, emailed copy to Nick
Rosa and Leslie indicated they would be willing to make small donations as needed. Rosa suggested we set up donations through PayPal. Nick and Wendy will explore this further with Val.
Suggestion made to poll residents to see what they might be willing to sign up for in addition to increasing community involvement by asking simple questions such as are they a cat or dog person; do they use the pools; do they have more than 2 cars; etc. Nick can set up a poll that lets residents see what percentage of other respondents voted like them.
Items from attendees/residents:
Suggestions for future KLCC events
Maybe a shuffleboard/cornhole event this fall with large bags of popcorn from Costco provided. Decide on date and volunteers at next meeting.
Next July 4 event suggestions: advertise as a meet/greet and games event in addition to ice cream with shuffleboard/cornhole on grassy area and indoor games in the clubhouse. Consider whether we want the shaved ice or softserve ice cream or an ice cream cart like the ones at the beach. Music outdoors and indoors; kids costume for $20; adult costume for honorable mention in newsletter.
No one was interested at this meeting to set up a “clothing closet” because it would require someone to set it up in their home.
Residents will be reminded they can use the website Posting site to share plants with each other. Wendy will create a brief suggestion for this in the next newsletter.
KLCC share box in clubhouse will be emptied by KLM every Monday
Yard of the Month nomination:
Rosa volunteered to take “Night Light” pictures for a twice-a-year award (June and November). No decision yet on award amount.
Space 40 won the August Yard of the Month award
Adjournment at 12:02 PM
