Glenn lived in Kearney Lodge for around 20+ years. He lived on
the east side with his four dachshund dogs. He even was a surro-
gate doggie dad for another resident who sometimes had trouble
caring for it. He was a major dog lover and would have taken in
ANY stray that came his way. He took his dogs to the beach
everyday to walk and play fetch. Glenn was a retired police officer.
He sported a handlebar mustache, had a bald head and wore
glasses. He drove a white sedan and used to ride his motorcycle to
stores around town. Glenn was usually in a great mood and always
eager to stop and say hello and ask how you were doing, despite his
life-threatening illness. He went the extra mile for residents in the
park. The last time I saw Glenn was after a serious medical proce-
dure. I was flabbergasted to see him out driving and helping his
friend when he might better have been resting to support his own
physical healing. But that was the way he was—denying his own
comforts for the needs of others. He was free-spirited, accepting,
loving person toward all souls. He thought and cared about many
residents at KL. He was quick to meet the need for a ride to
medical appointments by seniors that needed it. If he knew some-
one had health problems or was going through a tough time, he
would periodically call them to check in. One time he brought over
a magazine ad of a shoe that facilitated arch support because I had
shared that someone had sore feet. For years he devotedly helped
his longtime resident friend, Kathy, by helping her manage her
home, run errands and watch her dog. Glenn was not shy about
sharing his opinion and stood on good convictions. He is survived
by daughter, Ethney and his dear doggies. You are missed, dear
Glenn.
